I am back!

After the two weeks of my blog being 1 part designer stylish and a 3 parts a mess, and after taking in comments from people about the disasterous blog, I have decided to scrap the fabulous gucci, prada, and louis vuitton background and revert to the boring blogger background until I have the time and patience to figure out a better layout.

Not a lot has happened in the last 2 weeks since I last reported aside from me working all the time! Today was my 21st straight day working and I know that I won't have a full day off until atleast August 13th, by which time will be over 5 weeks of day in day out work between both jobs.

On a happier note however, the countdown to holidays has begun and it is 19 days until Brad and I head off for beautiful British Columbia. Our itinerary is continually developing, but as it stands now we'll stay in Vancouver on our way to Powell River, stay in PR for just over a week (during which there will be a 4 day houseboat excursion) and head back possibly staying in Kelowna for 2 or so nights. I am getting more and more excited as the days get closer but I am not sure what I am most excited about, getting to go to the coast and see long lost friends and family, or actually getting 2 weeks off from all the bullshit!!

Anyway, as the days wear on I have become increasingly aggitated and melodramatic to all events and people around me; especially at work. In addition to my moodieness, as a result of stress I have found myself using crutches and alternate forms of coping with my stress that I had not previously used. I am fully aware of it at least and I only intend for it to be short term. I have not only begun the countdown to my much anticipated holiday but also to school. **countdown timers coming soon**.
Speaking of which, I need a drink.......

As you can see, my page is a mess right now. Now that I have got the background I like in place, it is hard to read my blog postings and this site won't allow me to put a backing to each blog. So please bare with me for the next few days until I figure out what html code this dumb site will accept so that everything is reader friendly!!

WHAT A DAY!!

Okay so apparently being good at your job and being offered additional work/clients because of it isn't always a good thing.
Last Friday, I was offered to take a second child on for a few hours a day

-- I am a aide for autistic children. Basically I work on goals that have been set by a team of specialized psychologists and myself; sounds easy, TRY IT!! cause I thought it would be---boy was I in for a surprise!!---

Anyway, I thought it would be great experience for my resume and my educa
tion (the extra money wouldnt' hurt either) so I said "okay" before really finding out the skinny. Obviously, due to confidentiality rights I cannot go in to detail about the child so to put it mildly, he is a non-functioning, non-verbal child. You try working on goals with a child who can't imitate, communicate, play functionally, and who eats EVERYTHING (he especially likes electrical cords)!

By the time I work 2.5 hours with the first child ( who likes to aviod every activity, run away, tantrum, and hit me), drive back from Leduc into the city, and get to the next child's house, I am already to hit the floor; then I have this child to work with!!! I swear the time stopped for a long period today. What should have been 4 hours with this child seemed like 10!!

Do you ever feel so frustrated that all you want to do in SCREAM and PULL YOUR HAIR OUT?

Hello all. Like millions of people before me, I have decided to jump on the blog-posting bandwagon; however, don't get your hopes up that it will be too exciting because honestly I don't know how often I will find time (or patience) to write something. Maybe I will suprise us all... Anyway, I've just finished a rather long-winded and exhausting celebration of my 23rd birthday. I think at some point I will have to mature and realize that it is not practical, nor feesible to have a multi-day/week celebration every year.

So anyway, I was greedy and I did have 3 days of celebration for my grand-ole birthday and went something like this:....

Friday (the 7th, my actual birthday) Brad and I went to the Esks football game cause we have season tickets. However, this was not just any football game for me. First, I had a really BAD!!! day in traffic [2.5 hrs to get from Clareview to Westmount (25ish kms)], so the second I got home, I chugged a litre of 1:3 ratio vodka:cran. Then it was off to the game. Once we got there, we did a little chummin with some fellow co-workers of mine from BP's before heading to our seats. Shortly into the game, and well in to the beer, the entire stadium was under a big black cloud that very quickly began to downpour!!! So immediatley, just like the other 40,000 fans, including the teams, we ran into the semi-covered inside of the stadium to get out of most of the rain, but certainly not all of it. Anyway, long story short, the Esks won by 10 or so, I cheered and yelled a hell of a lot for which I can assume was the Esks, we got a little wet, I got a little (or more) drunk, and we had a lot of fun! And in the end, thats all that matters anyway . Shortly after the game, Brad and I arrived at the BP's that I work at. We were to be meeting Monika and people from the game there (cause we couldn't find the bus to get back) and in the meantime drank with others. Sometime, going to BP's feels like Cheers, I know a lot of people, except I can't say I really know EVERYONE's name (mainly because I am REALLY bad at remembering names). So for a few hours I had quite a few interesting drinks. Why is it whenever someone buys another person a drink or shot they have to come up with something unique or more likley disgusting?! So that is about where the night and my memory end. Needless to say, the next morning was BRUTAL!!

Birthday day 2: The morning and early afternoon was pretty slow, mainly rehydrating from the night before. Although I said to show up around 2 or three, most people (except Kent and Ellen) were running on Chris time which ment 2:00 turned into 4:00; atleast he brought a pool!!! So we set up the pool and took over the front of the condo main lawn to do so. We moved our bbq from the back yard to the front and entertained many of our neighbours. The pool was very cold at first, until we came up woth the bright idea of running the hose from our hot water tap for the washing machine, then we were in a pool of luxury...too bad by this time it was getting cold out. So we moved the crew, which seemed to be growing by the hour, inside. We finished the night with some drinking and some games.
Check out pics of our pool party at: http://g-spot7.spaces.msn.com/

Birthday Day 3: Well once agian, the morning and good part of the afternoon was slow and incredibly frusterating because of Jodi and my overconfidence to do man's work. We decided to install a ceiling fan in my room but after 2 trips to Home Depot, 4 hours, and many, many obstacles, we decided to say "fuck it", get help to put back the original light and be done with it.
Atleast the evening went better.
I headed out to Brad's sister Karrie's house for a family birthday celebration. Much like last year, because his neice Brooklyn and I share the same birthday, we also shared the cake (it's a good thing I learned to share). We had a bunch of good-ol family fun and opened a few presents before retiring to Bradley's house for a recovery from a busy weekend.

So all in all, I had an interesting and exciting birthday weekend from which I have many pictures, memories, and most important of all, presents (not really)!

There you have it, my first official blog. I wouldn't say I am as creative as some because I prefer to tell it like it is! And as my English 100 professor pointed out, I tend to write like I speak, fast, conversational, and long-winded!! :)

Thanx for visiting!!!
